International Marketing and Output Data Base Conference 2023 in Bern from 24 to 28 September

The Swiss Federal Statistics Office (FSO) is organising the “International Marketing and Output Data Base Conference 2023 (IMAODBC)”, which will be held in Bern (Switzerland) from 24 to 28 September 2023.

The IMAODBC organisation was created in 2001 and has since met annually in various countries. The annual conference series has established a strong network of communication innovators. It offers a great opportunity for NSOs and other agencies with statistics departments to showcase their work, learn from their peers and identify opportunities for international collaboration. It has evolved into an important forum – active all year round – on the dissemination of data and statistics and led to improved international practices in the past.

The conference brings together experts from National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and international organisations to support the exchange of views on current trends, new ideas and upcoming technologies for a user-oriented communication of statistics. It focuses on web development, social media, databases and dissemination tools for digital communication.

During the conference, special attention will be paid to one UPDI concern: statistical literacy. In the afternoon sessions on Tuesday, 26 September, experts will discuss successful concepts and methods on the challenge of transforming complex data into easily understandable visualisations.

Presentations and discussion are offered in English only, with no translation.
