The FSO has been regularly publishing information for the general public since 1862 – currently up to 150 times a year. On the occasion of the 10,000th publication of the Federal Statistical Office, which will appear in autumn 2024, we look back on the history of Swiss statistics: from the beginnings with Stefano Franscini, through the multitude of increasingly modern publications, to the current multiple use of data in conjunction with AI tools. An important goal has always been to provide statistical information for the modern federal state.
Join us on this journey through time and follow the exchange between representatives from business, media and statistics production on the challenges in times of global crises and fake news.
This event is organised as part of the FSO’s Unlocking the Power of Data initiative in collaboration with the Canton of Ticino. It will be held in Italian, German and French. Simultaneous translation will be provided on site. Please register in advance using the following link.
