Here we are! The first event of Project Rosling will take place in Ramallah, Palestine, on 1 December 2022 under the auspices of the Arab Thematic Conference. The conference is part of a series of regional conferences organised to understand further and prioritise the emerging needs of statistical organisations to adapt and develop, as stressed in the Cape Town Global Action Plan for Sustainable Development.
The third day of the conference is co-organised with Project Rosling and will launch the Data literacy workstream. It will open the statistical community’s dialogue to data users and discuss “Do we even need data and statistics? A user’s perspective on how national statistical offices and international statistical agencies can remain relevant”. As such, in addition to the representatives of statistical community, present from the first day, the third day will gather regional policymakers, embassies and cooperation agencies, UN agencies and non-governmental organisations.
